Back in May 2006 (DA notes never forgets...) 
asked for a request/trade of Juniper Lee. Never heard of the character before, but this was the age of the interweb, how hard would it be to get references or even view it youtube and the like?
Harder than I expected, forcing me to rely on fan-art and kept leading me to drawing somebody else's version, as this teaser shows:
It eventually took digital TV here going multi-channel to finally have a free-to-air station pick it up for me to see it and slowly draw out my own version.
